This year I plan on highlighting a lot more projects and causes that I think are deserving of praise. One of those projects is Indego Africa. I love the infographic below which shows all the good work they did in 2012 and I look forward to more of their projects in 2013. There's been an increasing number of these types of initiatives popping up across the continent and even though there's always detractors and doubters, I couldn't be happier for more of these to happen. Indego Africa has so far had brand and design collaborations with J.Crew, Nicole Miller, Pamela Rose, Anthropology and many more. 100% of the profits are invested in business, literacy and training programs in Rwanda. I love that they are re-enforcing a sustainable business model that empowers many women in the region to become financially independent.

ReplyDeletei really love companies with a cause. i even have a pinterest board dedicated to socially conscious companies/organizations. have you heard of lydali, project feed, Hand in Hand soap, and of course the increasingly popular warby parker? they're also interesting and worthy in my book. i'll make sure to share more whenever you post. have a good weekend! :)
